Full Truckloads, One Source

Fill Dirt Delivered by the Full Truckload

Fill dirt is the material underneath everything else. It raises a building pad to grade, backfills a foundation wall, closes a utility trench, and fills the low spot in a yard that holds water every spring. When the fill is wrong, the problem doesn’t show up on delivery day. It shows up months later as a cracked slab, a sunken driveway, or a trench line that keeps settling.

Every load of fill dirt delivered from our pit comes from one private-property source, so you get the same material on load 40 that you got on load one. It has never failed an inspection on a job we’ve supplied, compaction testing included. That consistency matters when an inspector is checking your pad or a geotech is running density tests behind the roller.

Each delivery is a full truck carrying 16 to 17 cubic yards. If you’re searching for fill dirt near me anywhere in Marshall, Maury, Williamson, Rutherford, or Bedford County, you’re inside our regular delivery area, and a big order can run up to 20 to 25 trucks a day through our hauling network.

Common Uses

What Fill Dirt Gets Used For

Most fill dirt orders fall into one of these jobs. If yours isn’t listed, call and describe it.

Building Pads

Raise a house or shop pad to grade with fill that compacts in lifts and holds its shape under the slab.

Foundation Backfill

Backfill around footings and basement walls once the waterproofing is on and the walls are braced.

Utility Trench Backfill

Close water, sewer, and electrical trenches with material that won't keep settling along the line.

Low Spots and Drainage

Fill the low area that holds water and build slope so rain runs away from the house instead of toward it.

Driveway and Road Subgrade

Build up the subgrade before the crusher run goes down so the stone has a firm bed to sit on.

Grading and Leveling

Level a lot, build a berm, or bring a yard up to a usable grade before topsoil and seed.

Laying a driveway after the subgrade is built? See crusher run delivery for the base stone, or topsoil delivery for the final grade under seed or sod.

Clean Fill vs. Compactable Fill: Which Do You Need?

The two words get used loosely, so it helps to know what you’re asking for.

Clean fill is dirt free of trash, roots, construction debris, and large rock. It’s the right choice for filling low spots, building up a yard, and general grading where nothing heavy will sit on top. Clean fill can still hold some organic material, which is fine under grass but not under a slab.

Compactable fill has the right mix of clay and silt to pack down tight when it’s placed in thin lifts and rolled at the right moisture. That’s what you want under a building pad, a driveway, a parking area, or anywhere an inspector will test density.

Tell us what’s going on top of the fill, and you’ll get the right material for it. If your engineer or inspector has a spec, send it with your quote request.

Figure Your Order

How Much Fill Dirt Do You Need?

Measure the length and width of the area in feet, multiply by the depth in feet, and divide by 27. That gives you cubic yards. Divide by 16.5 and you have a close count of truckloads.

Fill shrinks as it’s compacted, so order more than the raw math says. For anything that will be rolled and tested, plan on roughly 15 to 25 percent extra. For loose fill in a yard, 10 percent is usually enough.

20 x 30 ft Low Spot, 1 ft Deep

About 22 cubic yards. One to two loads, depending on how much it settles.

40 x 60 ft Shop Pad, 1 ft Deep

About 89 cubic yards before compaction. Plan on six to seven loads.

100 x 200 ft Lot, 6 in Deep

About 370 cubic yards. Plan on 23 to 28 loads, a good fit for multiple trucks.

Built for Big Orders

Bulk Dirt and Gravel for Contractors

Big jobs run on schedule when the material shows up on time. Our team runs trucks every day, and for large jobs our hauling network brings up to 20 to 25 trucks to the site. On nearby deliveries that means 30 to 40 loads a day, depending on haul distance and offload time.

Every dirt load carries 16 to 17 cubic yards, and every rock load carries up to 21.5 tons. Fewer trips for the same yardage keeps your site moving and your costs down.

If your job is in Marshall, Maury, Williamson, Rutherford, or Bedford County, yes. That includes Chapel Hill, Columbia, Franklin, Lewisburg, Murfreesboro, Shelbyville, and Spring Hill. Parts of surrounding counties, including Davidson, Wilson, Giles, Lincoln, and Moore, may be serviceable, so call to check.

Right where you mark it, as long as the driver can get there safely. Because of the weight of a loaded truck, we can’t drive over asphalt driveways or walkways, septic systems, or buried water and electric lines. The driver has the final say on a safe dump spot.
